From school credit hours - to community service - to just wanting to make a difference - we may have a volunteer job for you at Sharing Connections!
More than 300 volunteers help Sharing Connections in a year. We very much depend on and appreciate this help, but we always need more! Please consider volunteering some time to us and getting to see the positive impact you have on others.
To start volunteering, schedule a time to come in and talk with our Volunteer Coordinator, Cindy Johnson, to have all your questions answered in person - or if you prefer, call Cindy at 630-971-0565, X226 or email her at cjohnson@sharingconnections.org

"I started coming every Monday and sometimes an extra day since the warehouse went into operation...We sometimes get to speak to some of the people we help, get to hold their babies, and talk to their children. The knowledge that there is such great need all through our world is overwhelming, but to be doing something, however small, to alleviate some of the difficulties that exist is so rewarding and much better than sitting home saying, 'It's too bad life is so difficult for so many people.'"

~ Ruth Sava, Volunteer

"Helping here makes you more aware of the many needs so many people have..."
"It's a true joy to come here [to Sharing Connections]. I had my first 'connection' on the very first day I volunteered - before I even got in the door. When I shoved my car keys into my pocket, I realized I was still carrying a tape measure I had been using outside in the yard at home. Just then I heard two women at the door trying to figure out if they had enough room in ther van for some large items they were picking up. They were frantically looking for something to measure with, and, rather dumfoudned, I pulled out my tape measure. Of course, I've seen much more significant connections being made since then. Helping here makes you more aware of the many needs so many people have, but it also makes you realize how many caring people are eager to give."
