Our
donation quality standards
are high because our families
need them to be.
As
our warehouse does not
have the available space
to repair or clean donated
items - we regularly
pass donated household
and furniture items
directly to client families
in need.
Who
sets our standards?
While
we do have to follow various
guidelines, ultimately
we set the standard for
acceptable donations.
We feel it is important
that our client families
have high quality choices
of items to place in their
home as many won't have
that opportunity or choice
outside of Sharing Connections.
Use
the check-list below
before calling for our
pickup service or before
dropping off your furniture.
Your donation meets
our standards if you
CAN check ALL
of the items below:
The
sofa/loveseat or
mattress/box set
does not need any
cleaning or repair
(this means
that it is in excellent
condition and has
no visible damage
or stains and
will require NO
additional cleaning).
A sofa and/or
mattress cover does
not qualify as excellent
condition if original
item has damage
or stains.
The
sofa/loveseat is
10 years old or
newer - slip cover
must be removed.
The
desk is a child's
desk and can fit
in a small child's
room.
The
washer & dryer
is in 100% working
condition, requires
no repairs or additional
pieces and is 7
years in age or
newer.
The
refrigerator and/or
stove has been cleaned
inside and out prior
to donation, in
100% working condition,
requires no repairs
or additional pieces
and is 10 years
in age or newer.
The
furniture is designed
for inside a home
and not considered
and/or could not
be used for outdoor
patio furniture
(this includes
all wicker furniture
as wicker furniture
is NOT acceptable).
The
kitchen/dining room
table is not glass.
The
crib has all pieces
included, has no
chipped paint and/or
damage, and meets
today's acceptable
standards (a
pop cannot fit through
the bars of the
crib).
All
household items
are in 100% working
condition, need
no repairs or cleaning,
and can be given
directly to a family
- i.e. coffee pots,
blenders, toasters,
etc.
Dinnerware,
pots and pans should
be in excellent
condition - ready
for a family to
use immediately.
In
keeping with our standards,
if any item DOES NOT meet
the required quality standards
above, it will be refused
- no exceptions.
