Excitement
was building as staff,
board members, volunteers
and representatives
from International Truck
and Engine Corporation,
a subsidiary of Navistar
International Corporation,
based in Warrenville,
Illinois, were on site
to donate a International®
model 4300 medium duty
truck with a 24 foot
van body and lift gate
to Sharing Connections
- which replaces a much
worn 1998 truck.
Leeanne
McGrath, Sharing Connections'
Founder, was presented
with the keys to the
new vehicle by David
J. Johanneson, Group
Vice President of Sales,
Marketing and Distribution
and Jim G. Krzmarzick,
Manager, Network Expansion
with International Truck
and Engine Corporation.
Sharing Connections
will use the truck donated
by International to
transport furniture
items from donor's homes
to our warehouse in
Downers Grove. These
goods are ultimately
passed on to families
and individuals in need
throughout the greater
Chicagoland area.
Volunteer
Dennis Webb, Dave Cain
(volunteer and Board
Member) and Tom
Hough (volunteer
and Board Member )
led the way in building
this relationship and
helped secure the much
needed vehicle. This
truck replaces our previous
truck that was 4 feet
shorter in length, 1
foot shorter in width
and 2 feet shorter in
height. With the additional
space, Sharing Connections
will be able to fit
more donated furniture
items during our weekly
pickups and distribute
them to families in
need.
