The 6th Annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting Sharing Connections Furniture Bank
was held on Monday, August 10 at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois.

The fantastic turn-out and significant amount of money raised made this important fundraising event a tremendous success!  The Golf Committee’s persistence and hard work certainly paid-off. A special thank you to our committee chair, Bob Graham, for his unwavering support and leadership this year and every year. None of this would have been possible without his and his team’s efforts.

About the Event
Golfers enjoyed the challenge of a beautiful course – made all the more enticing with the ideal weather we were lucky to have that day.  A buffet lunch was served beforehand, and our laid-back and fun 19th Hole Party afterward provided the perfect opportunity to mingle and reflect on the day.

A highlight of the evening was the Live Auction, where our talented Auctioneer Team from Ward Auction & Appraisals, Inc. sold fabulous items, such as a private sail for six on Lake Michigan, box tickets to a Cubs game and opportunities to play some of the nation’s most prestigious golf courses, including TPC Sawgrass, Muirfield, etc.  The auction created a great deal of excitement as our guests bid for these generously donated prizes.  Our Raffle offered fabulous restaurant certificates, sporting event tickets and still more golf! 

We are delighted to report that the 2009 Golf Outing nearly matched the record level of funds raised in 2008 – a huge victory in this economy and demonstration of the dedicated and generous supporters we are blessed to have.  Because of the generosity of our sponsors, donors and guests, economically disadvantaged families throughout the Chicagoland area will have beds to sleep in, couches to rest upon, and tables to gather around for dinner at the end of a long day.
